Audience: Anybody needing to maintain or program a Modicon Premium PLC using PL7 software

Course Outline
Module 1
This module introduces the hardware and system components used in a typical Modicon TSX Premium system and then moves on to the PL7 software used for programming and monitoring it. The student will be able to setup and verify the communication drivers, connect to the PC, and transfer projects. The hardware configuration is reviewed and the student will be able to add and configure CPUs and modules. The student will understand the basic memory structure in the PLC and how to address it in the PL7 software. The concept of animation tables is covered and the student will be able to create and modify them to view variable data. To conclude the module, the student will become familiar with the cross reference tool used to search and find addresses with an application.

Module 2
This module starts with an introduction to ladder logic fundamentals. Many of the core instructions for the Modicon processor are covered including timers, counters, math and comparison operations. By the end of the lesson the student should feel comfortable reading and editing ladder logic
